As a writer, illustrator, and educator, I’ve always been passionate about exploring stories that blend visual art with words to spark new perspectives. I co-founded the Pao Collective, which works to promote graphic novels in India, and my debut graphic novel, The Hotel at the End of the World, was shortlisted for the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize. Through my work, I aim to tell tales that challenge and connect people, shedding light on the nuances of human experiences.
In addition to graphic novels, I’ve ventured into illustrated short stories, such as my collection Peace Has Come. Each piece is rooted in the idea that art can be a vehicle for empathy and cultural connection. As I continue to write, illustrate, and teach, my goal is to create works that both inspire and resonate, encouraging readers to view the world from different angles.

Assam-based artist Parismita Singh’s work offers a glimpse of the normalisation of state violence against citizens.

As Assam’s National Register of Citizens process grinds out, worrying questions remain about its implementation.

We asked women vendors in Assam what they want from political parties – it’s NOT the NRC.

“As long at the network holds, the India-Pakistan standoff is in our hands, satisfying our need for drama and emotion and patriotism.”

A graphic novelist maps how the journey of these NRC applicants is a testimony to the cruelty of the process, and the resilience of the sufferers.
